About IdeyaHub

IdeyaHub is a Southeast Asia-focused publication that examines how individual banks, insurers, and fintechs actually make decisions, not through news recaps or trend roundups, but through narrative case studies that dig into one company at a time.

Most coverage of the region’s financial and insurance sector tells you what happened: a funding round, a product launch, a quarterly result. IdeyaHub asks what it actually means, pulling apart the numbers, the underwriting, and the business model behind the headline to explain why a company’s strategy is working, struggling, or quietly reinventing an old idea.

The publication covers Insurtech, Fintech, Insurance, Banking, and AI & Data in Financial Services.

IdeyaHub is built around a simple principle: better data and sharper thinking lead to better decisions. Each piece is a close read of one company — its numbers, its business model, and the risk sitting underneath — going further than trend coverage or press-release summaries typically allow.

Designed for professionals, decision-makers, innovators, and curious readers, IdeyaHub aims to be a trusted destination for high-quality insights into Southeast Asia’s financial and insurance landscape, at the level of specific companies and real mechanics, not just industry-wide trends.

Who’s behind IdeyaHub

IdeyaHub is written by Joseph Rivera, an AI and data science leader based in Taguig, Philippines, with more than 10 years of experience in enterprise analytics and machine learning.

His work includes leading an enterprise AI transformation office in the insurance industry, building AI solutions for financial services and government, and running machine learning projects for clients in insurance, retail and manufacturing. He also taught and led a postgraduate diploma program in AI and machine learning offered by Emeritus with the Asian Institute of Management, bringing enterprise AI practice into the classroom for working professionals.

He holds a Master in Applied Business Analytics (University of Asia and the Pacific), a Master in Innovation and Business (Asian Institute of Management) and a Juris Doctor, and is a Certified Innovation Professional. That mix of data, business and legal training shapes how IdeyaHub reads a company: the numbers first, then the business model, then the rules it operates under.

IdeyaHub is an independent personal project. Articles rely only on public information and are not written on behalf of any employer.

How we research

Every article is built from public, checkable sources: annual and quarterly reports, regulator filings and statistics (such as the BSP, OJK, Bank Negara Malaysia, the State Bank of Vietnam and MAS), company announcements, app-store ratings and product terms published by the companies themselves.

Figures are quoted with their period and source so readers can trace them. Where a number is an estimate or a calculation of our own, the article says so. Analysis and opinion are clearly separated from reported fact.

Independence

IdeyaHub’s analysis is its own. Companies covered do not review, edit or approve articles before they are published.
